REDMOND HABITAT NEEDS YOUR HELP!

There is more to building a home than swinging a hammer. There is much preparation work to be done before the home can be built. Habitat succeeds because people who care make it succeed. Your time, skills, financial support and prayers can bring better housing to people in need.

Anyone with or without building experience is welcome at our home building sites.

Redmond Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry, building homes with low-income people who live in substandard conditions.

The philosophy of the Redmond Affiliate is that the economically disadvantaged need capital, not charity, and co-workers, not caseworkers, in order to obtain a simple, decent home in a decent community.

The capital for building comes from gifts and no-interest loans. These donations are made by individuals, churches, corporations and foundations.

Construction work is a cooperative effort involving volunteers, staff and buyers of the home. The home is then sold at NO PROFIT to home buyers who pay back the total cost of the home, normally over a 20 year mortgage period, at NO INTEREST. The mortgage payments are then channeled back into a fund that helps build homes for other families.

HfH is a volunteer, grass roots organization. We offer one of the lowest administrative overheads of any service organization. Your donation goes directly to help buy land and build homes for deserving families.

There are many ways you could make a difference! Habitat would have funds to build one home if:

500 people pledged $8.35 per month for one year, or
250 people pledged $16.75 per month for one year, or
125 people pledged $33.50 per month for one year.
